A Sneak Peak

Writer's picture: StefStef

The build has escalated with the time for me to get my hands dirty now upon me.

I have huge amounts of walls and ceilings ready to paint, stairs to sand and varnish and ceiling beams to stain. Very soon I’ll have skirting and doors to varnish too and it’s time to get my flat pack skills brushed up and build my kitchen for my builders to plumb in. I am completely daunted by how much work I have to do with so little time.

Windows and new doors arrive on the 16th and that week will be the new floor in reception and building of reception furniture. Over the next two weeks radiator covers are being built, the changing room / toilet is being built and plumbed in and all the little touches that will turn this from a building site to a yoga studio will take shape.

And so I thought I’d share a little peak at some of the features in my studio.

These are the wall lights that I’ve had brought in from a small business in Germany. I have two of these on each side wall casting their soft light over the studio. They create a gorgeous simple flower mandala shadow on the walls.

Mandalas have always been my favourite doodle. I find them mesmerising and calming so was instantly drawn to these lights. Did you know that Mandalas represent unity and oneness? This symbolism is seen in their symmetrical design, which radiates from a central point with all lines connecting. This links to the idea that everything is connected in the universe. The flower mandala symbolises rebirth, empathy, and self-love. A perfect feature in my new studio where I hope my yoga and wellness students will develop and grow.
